Carlson School Net Impact Graduate Chapter Awarded Gold Status
Additionally, the school was nominated for a 2013 TeamMBA Award.
The Carlson School Graduate Chapter of student-led organization Net Impact was awarded "gold" standing for its activities, programming, and membership reach. The chapter placed in the top 24 percent of more than 300 chapters worldwide.
Net Impact equips individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. The Carlson School Graduate Chapter, which is organized by both MBA and Public Policy students, was recognized for exceeding Net Impact's baseline requirements. The chapter offers members a wide variety of unique opportunities to make an impact on campus, in the workplace, and in their communities.
"This award is representative of not only the hard work of our Net Impact chapter, but the commitment of our entire student population to the common good," says Hans Peterson, assistant director of student affairs for the MBA Programs. "The award is a welcome honor, but it does not come as a surprise to me; Carlson School students have consistently impressed me with their interest in the broader community and their desire to apply their leadership skills and experience to greater causes."
At the Carlson School, the graduate chapter of Net Impact is responsible for coordinating talks for professional growth, organizing volunteer activities in the larger community, leading the Faculty Case Competition, and more. The group is led by Full-Time MBA Chris Mathew.
