Carlson School to Host Marketing Case Competition
The 14th annual Elite Eight Case Competition features eight top-ranked MBA programs
The Carlson School of Management will host the 14th annual Elite Eight Case Competition Nov. 7-9.
Focused on real-world brand management challenges, The Elite Eight Case Competition is the only student-led case competition in the nation. The competition attracts competitors from eight top-ranked MBA programs and connects Minnesota businesses with top talent from across the country.
"I participated in the Elite Eight as a student, and I'm excited to be judging for the third time," says Jim Jarman, marketing and sales leader for Land O'Lakes Inc. "It's a great way for Land O'Lakes to stay connected to the Carlson School, and provides an excellent opportunity to interact with top-caliber students from some of the best MBA programs in the country."
In addition to Land O'Lakes Inc., corporate sponsors for the 2013 competition include 3M, Dish Network, Eaton Corporation, H.B. Fuller, General Mills, and Target.
In 2012, competitors were asked to identify a consumer target for Best Buy Mobile -- smaller standalone storefronts that sell mobile devices. MBA students from Berkeley-Haas School of Business won the competition and took home the $10,000 prize.
The Elite Eight competition begins Thursday Nov. 7, when the case and sponsor are revealed. The presentations are open to the public and will be delivered Saturday, Nov. 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Carlson School of Management's 3M Auditorium.
