The nomination submitted by C. Eugene Allen, former associate vice president for the U of M’s International Programs Office, indicated that D’Angelo’s diverse global experience in a variety of government, business, and academic roles is outstanding. Dr. Allen highlighted that “in addition to Dr. D’Angelo’s work at the Carlson School of Management, she has been dedicated to engaging all faculty, students, and staff in global education and the development of intercultural teaching, learning, and research. Her service at the Carlson School, the University, and nationally is laudable.”

D’Angelo regularly presents on the Carlson School’s global initiatives, including internationalization, cross-cultural leadership, and global competence research and assessment at national and international professional organizations. In 2012, she was instrumental in developing and leading the Association of International Educators’ newly established Colloquium on Business Education, which gathers international educators

in the business discipline. Additionally, D’Angelo has taught graduate-level courses in the College of Education and Human Development’s (CEHD) Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development and served on the CEHD Dean’s International Advisory Board to assist with the development of the school’s internationalization strategy and initiatives.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this prestigious award by the University and recognize that it takes the dedication of and collaboration with many colleagues to do this important global work,” she says. “I share this award with all of my fellow scholar practitioners!”
