Alok Gupta Wins Prestigious AIS Fellow Award
Alok Gupta, the Curtis L. Carlson Schoolwide Chair in Information Management and Associate Dean of Faculty and Research, has been honored with a Fellow Award from the Association for Information Systems (AIS).
The AIS Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the information systems discipline in terms of research, teaching, and service. The award is quite selective; the only previous Carlson School faculty to receive it was Professor Emeritus Gordon Davis in 2000.
Gupta was the chair of the Department of Information and Decision Sciences at the Carlson School from 2006 to 2014. In 2014, he was named an INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Distinguished Fellow. Recently, he was selected as editor in chief of Information Systems Research, with his first term starting in January. He was awarded a prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER award for his research on dynamic pricing mechanisms on the internet. His research has won numerous other honors, including an IS Publication of the Year award from AIS and an ISS Design Science award in 2011 and 2012. He has been serving as publisher of the Carlson School’s MIS Quarterly since 2005.
More information about the AIS Fellow Award can be found on the AIS website.
