Carlson School's 1st Tuesday Speaker Series Features Hubert Joly of Carlson

hubertjoly220.jpgHubert Joly, president, CEO and director, Carlson, will headline December's Carlson School of Management's "1st Tuesday Speaker Series" on Dec. 7 at 11:30 a.m. in the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center.

Hubert Joly is president, chief executive officer, and director of Carlson. Prior to his current role, Joly served as president and chief executive officer of CWT. Joly went to CWT from Vivendi Universal where he served as executive vice president with responsibility for overseeing the company's American assets. His previous roles have included serving as CEO of Vivendi Universal Games, vice president of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Europe, president of EDS France, and as a consultant and then a partner with McKinsey & Company.

Joly is a business administration graduate of HEC Paris and a public administration graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. He was honored as one of the 25 Most Influential Executives of the Business Travel Industry (2006) by Business Travel News magazine, was elected a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum (Davos, 1997), and is a knight in the French Ordre National du Mérite.

The Carlson School of Management's "1st Tuesday Speaker Series" began in 1992 to provide an opportunity for alumni and friends of the Carlson School to continue their management education. The series features top-notch executives as keynote speakers addressing hot topics in business and leadership. The event attracts alumni and business leaders from throughout the corporate community and is a popular networking venue.
