The Carlson Funds Enterprise (CFE) is designed for students who are interested in pursuing careers in investment management, corporate finance, and investment banking.

Students in both the Fixed Income Fund and Growth Fund go through an intensive 6-credit, two-semester course in which they help manage a live portfolio from investments made by several area companies. Examples of student involvement in the program include the following:
Students gain experience by completing comprehensive analyses of firms, their management, strategies, business processes and performance, the industries in which they operate, their competitive positions within those industries, and the attributes of the securities they issue.
Students gain experience by assuming analyst responsibilities for various sectors within the fixed income market, such as Treasuries, Agencies, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Asset-Backed Securities, and Corporates.
Student analysts benefit from many opportunities to learn from experienced professionals:
Required Courses: To be considered for selection students must, at a minimum, complete FINA 3001 and ACCT 3001 by the end of the spring semester of their sophomore year.
Recommended Courses: Students applying to be in the Funds Enterprise should sign up for ACCT 5101 and FINA 4121, 4221 and 4321 fall semester. Once admitted into the Funds Enterprise, there are three additional required courses as well as 8 strongly recommended courses.
