Qianyun Xie is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Work and Organizations in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She received her B.A. in economics from Tsinghua University in 2008 and later an M.A. in business administration: human resources and economics from Tsinghua University in 2010. Her areas of research span personnel and organizational economics, labor economics, and labor relations. Her current research focuses on the impacts of family characteristics on employee reactions to performance incentives, the transferability of human capital, and the effects of unions in China. Xie's research has been published in the Journal of Labor Research. Xie received a Carlson School Ph.D. Student Excellence in Teaching Award in 2013 and was nominated for a University of Minnesota MSA-COGS Teaching / Teaching Assistant Award in 2014.
