Qianyun Xie is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Work and Organizations in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She received her B.A. in economics from Tsinghua University in 2008 and later an M.A. in business administration: human resources and organizational behavior from Tsinghua University in 2010. Her areas of research span personnel economics, labor economics, and labor relations. Her current research focuses on the impacts of family characteristics on employee reactions to performance incentives, the relationship between employee commitment, human capital, and career outcomes, and the effects of unions in China. Xie's research has been published in the Journal of Labor Research. In 2013, Xie received a Carlson School award for Ph.D. student teaching excellence.
