The Carlson Global Institute offers merit-based and need-based scholarships for HRIR Masters students participating in the Global Enrichment programs. The deadline for these application follows the "Priority Deadline" chart below. All applications received after the priority deadline may be considered based on available funds, but priority will be given first to students applying by the priority deadline, and second to students based on the date applied.

Eligibility and Award Criteria

Carlson students participating in Carlson Global Institute (CGI) or the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center programs are eligible for a need-based scholarship or merit-based scholarship. Carlson students may receive one need-based study abroad scholarship during their academic career. Students who have already received a need-based award are still eligible for merit-based awards. It is possible to apply for both scholarships for a program, but only one scholarship can be issued for each study abroad program.

Priority Deadline for Scholarships

For full consideration, apply by the deadline on or nearest to your program application deadline. If you miss the priority deadline, submit your scholarship application by the next application cycle deadline (see chart below).
