Women in Entrepreneurship Initiative

This year, MN Cup organized and supported two programs to encourage more women to get involved and enter into MN Cup.

Beginning in December, MN Cup kicked-off a three part Women in Entrepreneurship Initiative.  The first event was called “Candid Conversations” featuring women business leaders who moderated small group discussions about key topics affecting women in business at Treehouse Health.  January included a speed mentoring and networking session at Café, Inc. followed by the second annual Women in Entrepreneurship Conference in February with over 300 women attendee’s at the Carlson School.

MN Cup also supported NariMoxie Startups, a new pilot series promoting and supporting women who are developing high growth potential, scalable startups. NariMoxie offers FREE weekly meet-ups that include co-working space, mentoring, networking, and education from an inspirational women’s perspective.

Women in Entrepreneurship Initiative

The impact of the new initiatives is seen in the results for our 2015 applicant, showing that:

  •  33% of applicants were from women led companies
  • 46% of the applications had at least one female member on their team, up from 45% in 2014.

We are excited to see the innovation MN Cup women will bring to the table!
