As a global leader in impact energy management systems, privately-held Shape Corp. designs products to protect occupants, pedestrians, and vehicles. To grow the mid-sized business’s revenues to $1 billion within 3-5 years, executives wanted to expand into new regions, particularly Thailand. The challenges of entering foreign markets presented the company with new management issues, including a recent joint venture.
Carlson faculty have long taught that the creation and management of a successful international joint-venture takes strategic vision and alignment. Shape Corp’s custom program was designed to unite employees from around the world with common frameworks and foundational understanding of how to support on fruitful joint-venture.
Our skilled faculty delivered the first session of management-specific learning to the company’s CEO and top nine executives, including senior HR executives and department heads. With our guidance, the CEO effectively communicated the importance of the company’s international JV and brought everyone to the shared understanding that a focus was paramount to growth.
After our first successful partnership, Shape Corp. is pursuing a Carlson Executive Education membership and additional projects. The newest projects underway to provide a Corporate Board Assessment and succession planning tools.
