This program is open to U of M undergraduate students in good academic standing, with a GPA of 3.0 at the time of application. Students must also have completed ACCT 2050 by 2013 Fall Semester. The application process is competitive and space is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance.

Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina, and the second-largest metropolitan area in South America. As the political, financial, industrial, and commercial hub of Argentina, the city is also known for its European style architecture and rich cultural life. Located on the eastern edge of the Pampa, Argentina's most productive agricultural region, and linked with Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil by a great inland river system, the city is the distribution hub and trade outlet in South America.

Santiago is Chile's capital city, and the center of commerce for the country. It is a modern city and serves as the regional headquarters to many multinational companies including Minnesota-based 3M, Ecolab, and Cargill. Due to its location on fault lines, Santiago has a limited number of buildings remaining from Spanish colonial times, so the city has a modern architectural feel.

The program starts with a city tour and welcome dinner in Buenos Aires. The first week includes guest lectures and company visits in Buenos Aires and then the group transfers to Mendoza, Argentina for additional site visits. From Mendoza, the group will (tentatively) transfer to Santiago, Chile for the final days of the program where there will be additional guest lectures and company visits. Included in the program is also time for a small amount of independent exploration in both Argentina and Chile.

Students will stay in double or triple rooms with students of the same gender at a centrally-located hotel in Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and Santiago. Because networking and community-building are key parts of the program, students will not have the option of a single room. Guests are not permitted during the program. Breakfast will be provided daily at the hotels. A welcome dinner and closing dinner are also provided.

Fees are based on estimates and may change due to international economic factors. This information applies to 2013- 2014 programs.

The application cycle starts on March 1 and the priority deadline is April 1. Applications for programs that do not fill by the priority deadline will be accepted on a rolling basis until full.
