Experiential Student Learning

Experiential Learning Programs challenge teams of students to address your organization’s real-world challenges.

The four Carlson School Enterprise programs assemble MBA and select undergraduate students into small teams to address the real-world challenges of client businesses that expect real-world results. It’s an in-depth professional and transformational experience that few business schools offer.

Brand Enterprise

The Carlson Brand Enterprise is not simply another classroom; it’s a place of business. Brand Enterprise participants apply the knowledge they obtain in the classroom to a real-world problem and gain hands-on experience implementing strategic and analytical components of brand and marketing strategy consulting.

Consulting Enterprise

The Carlson Consulting Enterprise challenges students to apply lessons that span a variety of business disciplines to inform the best recommendation for a partner organization. Consulting Enterprise participants evaluate a business challenge and present a fresh strategy to clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to non-profit organizations.

Funds Enterprise

The Carlson Funds Enterprise was established among the first student-managed portfolios in the country. Through participation in the Enterprise, students and professional advisors are responsible for a small capitalization growth fund and a fixed income fund that combine for an asset total of more than $23.7 million.

Ventures Enterprise

The Carlson Ventures Enterprise is designed for students who are more intrigued by creating, developing, and sustaining new ideas to form or enhance businesses. The Ventures Enterprise hones and nourishes participants' entrepreneurial skills and helps them bring new ideas to life.

Carlson Analytics Lab

As part of the MS in Business Analytics program, students partner with real-world client organizations to answer business questions and facilitate data-driven decision making. In the Carlson  Analytics Lab, emerging analytics professionals apply analytics methodologies, techniques, and tools to complex, data-intensive business problems.

Global Business Practicum

The Global Business Practicum connects undergraduate and graduate students with corporate professionals abroad. Corporate partners benefit by working first-hand with potential future employees as they participate lock-step with students doing case studies within their organization's international business units. Teams of about 20 students travel to the partner organization's international locations and study an issue presented by the sponsoring organization.
