Sunil Gupta SC 100x146Sunil Gupta, Ph.D., is the Edward W. Carter Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and he conducts research primarily in the areas of social networks, customer management, pricing, and return on marketing investment. His articles in these areas have won numerous accolades, including the 1993 and 2002 O’Dell Awards; the 1998 and 2005 Paul Green Award for the most significant contribution in the field of marketing; the 1998, 2000, and 2003 Marketing Science Institute best paper awards; and the 1999 and 2004 best paper awards for the International Journal of Research in Marketing and the Journal of Interactive Marketing, respectively.
 
The co-author of two award-winning books, Gupta has conducted seminars and given consulting advice to a number of companies in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, and has appeared as a business expert on several national and international networks, including CNN and the BBC. Further, Gupta is an area manager for the Journal of Marketing Research and an editorial board member of five major academic journals.
 
Gupta holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, and a BA from the Indian Institute of Technology. He has served as a faculty member or visiting scholar at UCLA, Harvard Business School, Duke University, and Columbia University.
