Student Background

The Center for Human Resources and Labor Studies's HRIR program has a longstanding commitment to diversity and attracts professionals from a variety of backgrounds. Entering students have undergraduate degrees in many subjects, ranging from the fine arts to engineering. The most common majors include psychology, economics, and business.

While previous work experience is not required, nearly all of our part-time students are working in full-time careers.  Having decided to move to the next level of their careers by pursuing a graduate degree in HRIR, they are able to continue their full-time employment in a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, banking, education, customer service, and global technology.

At any given time 80-90 students (with an average age of 28) are enrolled in the program.
