MINNEAPOLIS (April 2, 2007)—The Carlson School of Management is pleased to announce that Chris Mayr is promoted to the role of Senior Director of Development, Principal Gifts Officer with the Carlson School and the University of Minnesota Foundation.
“Chris is recognized across the University as a highly respected development professional,” says Carlson School Dean Alison Davis-Blake. “Combining his work with existing relationships and his ability to build new benefactor relationships, he will be able to work on University-wide collaboration efforts that will make a significant contribution to the University’s overall development success.”
In his new role, Mayr will work with alumni and friends in helping them accomplish their philanthropic priorities through transformational giving that will benefit the Carlson School and greater U of M, with an emphasis on multi-disciplinary development. Mayr will also develop gift strategies for the most significant giving opportunities to benefit the Carlson School.
“I’m honored to serve in this expanded role for the Carlson School, for my alma mater the University of Minnesota, and for the greater good of our state,” says Mayr. Mayr will partner extensively with the Carlson School institutional advancement team. He will also serve as a member of the Carlson School Executive Committee.
During his time at the Carlson School, Mayr has supported the school and the University by building relationships with major gift benefactors. He joined the Carlson School in 1993 as Director of Annual Giving and Research. He then held the role of Major Gift Officer, Director of Institutional Advancement.
